I would be nice to see the yearly numbers tho. That would give more or a reality check to see the year by year $…. Also, thanks for doing a fund that includes 2008. We all wonder what would happen if we went thru that ourselves pulling out money for retirement. You made my day.
I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the analysis. I sourced the quarterly data so it was just easier to analyze it that way, plus VYM pays a quarterly dividend. But you make a great point, showing the annual numbers would be more useful and shouldn’t be a difficult change to implement.
I’m still looking for a good dividend fund with an inception date prior to the dot com bubble to expand this analysis even further. And I have a few ideas to build on this data as well. I’ll be mixing in such analysis with my regular content going forward.
